If only more people approached writing like they do cooking. Just like a fine cook patiently kneads their pizza dough until it’s smooth and stretchy, so does a good writer patiently edit and maneuver their ideas and research until their text is smooth and engaging.

There are a lot of topics that could be considered boring to write about, like printer ink. But the crux of strong writing is creativity, and when the creativity runs out — as it likely would in the case of writing 3,000 words about printer ink — then there’s research.

I connect with clients that require heaping doses of both research and creativity. These two forces have been crucial in my writing about highly finite topics such as data harvesting apps, gastrointestinal medication, and workplace morale. Aside from prose, I’ve also used these skills to problem solve UX issues, such as SEO development.

My favorite thing about writing is how it plugs me into community. Writing for long-standing Bay Area institutions and businesses is what makes me most proud of my work.
